Rain rain miserable rain. There’s no real poetic way of putting it. Today sucked. It was still raining this morning and kept raining until around 5PM. It was a 26 mile day to give us an easy walk into town tomorrow. Michelle, a trail angel, made the day suck a lot less. She served us hot chili, soda, and snacks. It was such a great surprise but the warmth wore off fast.

The rain was supposed to stop at 1PM, but come 1PM, it was still raining and at this point, we were walking in an exposed section getting blasted by the wind. We then started down a steep reroute trail to avoid a fire closure but luckily, this reroute is typical for the PCT even without fire closures because of the wonderful waterfalls along this path.

Towards the evening, the rain let up but at this point, we were soaked through. Luckily, our sleeping gear stayed dry but the tent was still wet. Lets hope we stay dry through the night.
