Taking advantage of a rest day in Tehatchapee to post some updates!
Over a month in now I have really settled into the rhythm of trail life. After the blister phase was over in the first couple weeks I actually started to feel like my body could do this!
Hiking 15-20 miles a day is hard work but I've found I love the simplicity of focusing on basic needs like water and food and putting one foot in front of the other.
Me and my little Tramily (trail family) are over 500 miles in and we are really excited to be almost done with the desert! The last 100 miles have been extra hot and windy so the charm has definitely worn off.
Some super quick highlights so far include an amazing camp-side sunset in Mt Laguna, summiting San Jacinto, taking the post refreshing dip in a mountain river in the middle of the desert, seeing all the desert lizards and snakes, spending time in all the cute little mountain towns like Big Bear and Wrightwood, and night hiking the aquaduct section with a little PCT Hiker Rave.
