Rock Creek to Panther Creek
Woke early and exited as quietly as we could from the campsite. By 5:00 AM the day was hot and humid. We knew it would be a short hiking day because we are shooting for Panther Creek with lots of campsites, but we still wanted to hike when the weather would be less harsh.
We hiked up and down hills in a green tunnel that was just plain humid and hot. (98 degrees and 65% humidity). Nothing much to see. Few photos taken. It feels hotter the farther north we hike. Not what we expected.
We arrived at the Panther Creek site and checked out the adjacent campground. Decided to snag a large flat site by the trail and creek rather than camp in a busy campground. It’s summer! Campers out enjoying Washington.
A SOBO hiker arrived about 8:00 after we’d gone to bed and set up his tent next to ours. Chris thinks he was a SOBO hiker he because his equipment was so clean - and we have not met him previously…we remember people by their tents.
