Want to document and share your hike with friends and family?
So this is my first entry… at 116 days… I’m slow to adopt sometimes. ?
The day started off with an early wakeup and a text from my shuttle that she had to cancel due to a family emergency. While I wanted to feel a bit skeptical, due to the previous night’s conversation, I just let it go. On the trail, things change all the time, so you just have to embrace it, see it as a normal thing, and work around it. And getting back on trail is not always easy, especially when you’re looking at 6 miles of road walking as the alternative, but I was able to line up another shuttle for pickup. You never know how these things will play out.
My “town stay” was pretty uneventful, but I enjoyed the food and the rest. I had not zeroed in over 12 days, so I was due. I was anxious to get back on the trail because I have only @100 miles left to finish Pennsylvania.
That didn’t last for long. Once I made it to PA501 and started into all the rocks, the enthusiasm faded. ? after about 11 miles, I decided to make it a short day. So I peeled off to Rock’n Soul Hostel, and I gotta tell you, this place is nice. Deli run later!!! ?
Oh!!! I hit 1200 miles today, and found a Gatoraid packet (trail magic)!! Woot!!
I’m happy I can follow along even if it’s starting 116 days in!
