I woke today in a hotel for the third morning. It felt nice to sleep in and relax. I’m usually the type that feels bad being lazy but today my time with Rocket was wonderful. We ate great food and watched movies and relaxed. She took me out for breakfast and we said goodbye at the trailhead.

I left around 3pm and planned for 12 miles or so. I was meeting Thin Mint and Boujee at the fire station. I hiked and felt fine. The air was cool and the sun was hot. The climb out wasn’t all too bad. I didn’t see anyone which was weird. I knew they were all ahead. At one point I could see a red pack in the distance and realized it was Tiger Blood. I hurried up and caught her and Mosey. We took a short break and chatted. They weren’t going all the way to the fire station like I planned. Susan/Brianna/SAS was ahead and I caught her too. We chatted briefly and I went on my way.

Toward the end of the hike my arches really started to hurt. I had mild sharp pain in them on the descent down to the station. I plan to actually take my routine breaks again starting tomorrow. I know that’ll help a lot.
