Woke to a very windy morning after a crazy windy night. Again — perfect area for wind farms. It was difficult to stay upright while hiking.
Made our way up the climb into a lovely forested area that quickly returned to the desert landscape and hiked a dusty ATV/dirt bike road. We decided to pass up a water source and cabin because we heard several hikers got sick after stopping there.
Arrived at Walker Pass campground where a trail angel had left chips and sodas, apples and tomatoes (!). Chris washed two large ripe tomatoes and added them in our freeze dried dinner. Such a treat!!! Unexpected delight. Saw Stilts, Viking and Sunrise also camping at the site. Nice to reconnect with all of them.
