Left the Lodge of legends hostel today back to Clingmans Dome to pick up where we left off. Slack packed to New Found Gap and then picked up our packs to hike to ice water shelter. Got in around 4pm and hiked 10.5 miles. The shelter was full so I pitched my tent. Met a few new hikers and Amelia the trail ridge runner. She is amazing. She covers 30 miles a day in the Smokies and was full of wonderful hiking stories.
Tomorrow we plan on hiking 12.5 miles past Crosby to Tri Corner Shelter. Apparently bear activity in the area. Hope we have a good day.
