Woke up before everyone at the camp sight. It was crazy to see 8 hikers all cowboy camping in a line, bringing a smile to my face. Smackdown and I headed out to Warner Springs. We hit up Eagle Rock, while singing Toby Keith, the most patriotic thing we could think of. It fit the moment.

It was overcast and windy when we made it to the gas station, where we posted up oisifs, charged our electronics for a couple of hours, and down some Mad Mike’s hot dogs. They were some of the next dogs I’ve ever had.

I did have my first sexist dude interaction today, which brought me back from the honeymoon feeling I’ve been having on the PCT. I was talking to this older gentlemen in the gas station and he seemed nice. When I went to leave, he said wow, you have some really nice legs. I immediately felt uncomfortable and remembered the world that we are living in. I laughed, and just walked out of the store and told Smackdown what happen. I bet that man thinks it was just an innocent remark, but it just sucks to be seen as an object. It was just gross. And then he proceeded to tell me there’s a bathroom in his office across the street for me to use, but. It to tell anyone else about it. Vomit.

After that, Smackdown and I hit the trail where I ended up camping a few miles before him because my feet just couldn’t hang anymore. What was a two man camp with a man name Geode, turned into a jam band on a beautiful ledge with Lemming, his brother, a dude with a ukele, and a few other folks from their crew. They were super chill! Had a blast with them while they ate and we all stared out into the sunset.
