Grew up in the Midwest. Moved to MD, college grad, married, kids, divorced, happily single. Healthy, Retired. Love outdoors. I’m headed north to Georgia to start my first thru hike on the Appalachians Trail on Earth Day 4/22/21 at the Springer Mtns entrance. Would like some company. We are never alone on this kind of trail, but having hiking buddies are good. I am easy going and like meaningful conversations, or even being goofy, but “chatty cathys” or “know it all charleys” may not be a good traveling buddy for me.
