Today was my longest day yet at 20 miles. We also passed the 300 mile marker! This morning we woke up and broke down camp and took things slow. We laughed all morning before leaving camp. We hiked up to Blackstaff Cliffs and had amazing 360 degree views all around us. There were loads of rock scrambles and more technical hiking than I've seen set but it made it much more fun. For a change I wasn't in pain all day. It really feels like I have my legs.
After the group agreed on a short day of only 12 miles, Snacktime, Peanut, Blue, Samwise, and I decided to push on to hit 20 miles. We stopped at the campsite where the rest of the group planned to stay and there wasn't any room so we had all the more reason to move on. We night hiked for a while and at one point Blue and I got ahead of Peanut and Samwise. I decided it'd be funny to hide and scare them. I jumped out in the dark at Samwise and he came within an inches of hitting my skull with his walking staff but then we had a good laugh and hiked the rest of the night together.
We arrived at 9:30 tonight and set up camp. While I was eating dinner, Peanut grabbed spaghetti out of my mouth and ate it and we laughed until we cried. I love being hiker trash. I've also really enjoyed talking and hiking with Blue. We seem to laugh a lot and enjoy picking on each other while hiking together. Everything out here is going by really fast and I'm nervous that it'll end soon. I want to continue to grow and feel the freedom of being out here. I love my life out here and my new family.
