4/5/21 Today was a long day. I have tons of food a least a weeks worth so pack is heavy. Piper did well. Amazing who it was so cold recently and today was hot. Late start organizing all the food and planning on route over next week and where Cindy should send the dog food. Dropped down low and Piper laid in the water as it was hot. Dropped down to 1372 feet. A little confusing going under Interstate 40. Line of cars going east . Then walked steadily up hill getting to the top of Snowbird Mountain at 4,263 feet. Read on Guthook there was a place to charge electronics randomly on a pole so I did feed Piper had a dehydrated meal. Communications tower on mountain. It was getting dark by then hiked to a camping site mentioned in Guthook no one was there so that was good. Would have gone the 1.9 miles to the shelter but didn’t want to wake people up especially if Piper barked at them. She is sleeping in the tent.
