Day 8. 2.5 miles to Unicoi gap. Fairly easy day, came into the gap to trail magic from Trail Servants, after a hot dog and cosmic brownie we caught the free shuttle to Hiawasse, GA. We are getting off trail a couple of days to rest after 60 miles, but more because there’s bad weather scheduled and no place to get off in the next 20 miles. The town is very accommodating to hikers, they have Mayor Monday with free food on the town square and a great outfitter. We were able to relax at a hotel and have a very nice shower and sleep.
