Today was a good day! I was really worried about climbing Mount Madison. I heard it was an insane climb. After leaving camp, I just loved the clouds forming on top of the mountains like caps. When I got to Mount Madison, I downed two cheese sticks and tackled it straight on. I actually really REALLY enjoyed the climb and the rock walk after the summit. I enjoyed the rest of the day and made it all the way to Pinkham Notch Visitor Center where I got a shuttle to The Barn hostel. I’m resupplied for 2 days to tackle the Wildcats next. I’m warned it’s the worst climb of all. I like how everyone is always warning the next climb is the worst. Honestly, looking at the elevation map, I kind of believe them this time. It’s 5 miles of just UP! Fingers crossed tomorrow goes okay. I have 13 miles to do with the most incline of any day yet.
