I hiked 33.4 miles today. I slackpacked 32.3 of those miles and had my pack with me the last 1.1 miles. It was very nice today being able to get that many miles done and still feel as good as I do. Seeing family again was so much fun and it was refreshing and saddening at the same. My parents and three youngest sisters came up yesterday and today so I got to spend an evening with them although I don’t think I was very much fun because I was still not feeling the best and I was very tired. They came up to slackpack me for the day. I miss being at home and living a normal life but I’m getting closer to being done. It might be a confusing next three weeks for me but we’ll just have to wait and see. I’m in need of a much needed break but I’m not sure when that will come maybe not till this is done then it might take me a long time to fully recover. I hiked the last mile in the dark and it was fine until about half to the shelter I’m at then I heard an animal that sounded like a smaller version of the screeching nasgulls (I’m pretty sure that’s not how you spell it but whatever) from lotr. I was kinda scared to be brutally honest. You never know in the dark when a mouse might run out in front of you or have bugs somehow miss your headlamp and hit your eyes it’s scary stuff😳😂 but it’s all alright I guess. I’m looking forward to tomorrow.
