Thanks to a friend of mine, I have a new patch on the back of my bag with my trail name. I absolutely love it! I’m not the best sewer but I did my best attaching it to the pack. I hope it holds up and makes it all the way to Katahdin. So excited that I’m 1 week away from my 4 day / 3 night shakedown trip. The real trip will be here before I know it!

It’s going very well! Thanks for asking, Forrest. I just completed a 4 day stay at Cumberland Island with all my gear. I need to adjust how I pack things in my food bag because what I need always seems to be at the bottom. My choice for base layer bottoms were junk so I will switch those out. I was toasty warm all night. Just have to figure out a couple cold spots. Everything worked out well as a storm rolled thru and I’m happy with how I prepped the tent for it. I loved the 13.8 mile walk with my pack but I’m definitely feeling it. That’s what I really need to work on right now.
How's the prep going?
I am excited to use HikerFeed to journal every day as my hike starts. Only thing I have an issue with is figuring out where the comments are or when I get one. I see the icon on the top right that shows I have new notifications but I guess I wish I could look at my logs and see a number or a dot or something to show I have communication on that post waiting for me to see. Otherwise, so excited to use this. I’ve been giving my webpage address to anyone who wants to follow along. I haven’t posted much because I didn’t know if it was good to post non-AT stuff as I’m prepping or just wait to start posting when on the AT.
