Day 43

Day 43

Chris-and-Rick May 26th, 2021
Chris-and-Rick's 2021 PCT Thru-Hike

May 26 730.8 to 750.8 miles (Chicken Spring Lake)

PCT miles - 20

Gorgeous hiking! Amazing trees, which we have learned are a type of Bristlecone Pine called Foxtail Pines (nice job Alec).

Took so many pictures- saw a few people we met earlier (Buttshot and Snowcone). All of us camped at Chicken Spring Lake. So nice to see a lake. So nice to camp next to a lake. So many times in SoCal the PCT seemed headed for some distant body of water only to veer away to spiral up some nondescript steep hill.

Chris had AT&T service for a few minutes over a pass about 6:30 AM. Wrote an email to the Williamson Inn where we have reservations and resupply- hoping to change reservation to a day earlier. Storm approaching and more mileage days put us ahead of schedule. Who knows. We just realized it’s Memorial Day Weekend. Hmmm

Camping at 11,200 feet tonight. Chris says lung feel about 85% back to normal.
