Day 12-13--Double Zero in Idyllwild

Day 12-13--Double Zero in Idyllwild

Otter's 2021 PCT Thru-Hike

Written, Sunday, 2 May 2021

A very relaxing and necessary couple of no-hiking in Idyllwild.

Once again, we had a very nice AirBnB a short walk from town and spent our time resupplying, repairing equipment, and, if course, eating all the good food in town.

Half-Hook headed out on Saturday afternoon, after swapping out some old shoes for new.

The best part the weekend for me was that my brother drove all the way up from San Diego to visit. We all went out for a huge Mexican dinner. Tons of laughs! I was so thankful that he could make the trip.

On Sunday morning, the Ambassadors (Silke, Florian, Karolina, and Lauren) headed back to the Trail via a ride from a wonderful trail angel named Jeannine. While we were cramming 4 people and backpacks in Jeannine's Subaru, we also arranged a pickup for tomorrow morning at 0600 so I can get moving early.

I spent the rest of the day washing and cleaning (because I had time), updating the blog, and, if course, eating all the food.

About dark, I got a text for the Ambassadors, letting me go thru made great miles today.

I'm all packed up and ready to go tomorrow, but for one more night, I'm safe, dry, and warm in Idyllwild.

Haha! Zeros are aaaallll about the food, beverages, and camaraderie. Sea otters are fascinating creatures. All sorts of neat adaptations to fill their competitive niche

Looks like you had some great food on your zeros! And very interesting about their teeth!
