4/30/21 Last night we packed in the shelter and Piper did great. In the AM today cold, very windy and cloudy. Sun came out warmed up changed into shorts. Saw wild ponies. As expected Piper barked at them but only once. I leashed her. They completely ignored us. They were cute with long manes and tails just grazing. Past the 500 mile marker. People complaining of the rocks on the trail the last few miles. This is nothing compared to the Whites in NH.Got to the Old Orchard Shelter about 6:00 PM and it was empty so Piper and I will stay in it. High wind warnings and temperatures could drop to 32 degrees tonight. Come on it’s last day of April in Virginia.
